Plantersbank Announces Executive Appointments

Planters Development Bank (Plantersbank) chairman and CEO Ambassador Jesus P. Tambunting, announced the appointment of Fe Miranda T. Aruta as president and chief operating officer.

“We are confident in Randy Aruta’s leadership capabilities, which are consistent with our mission to be the Total Bank for SMEs and a model Triple Bottom Line institution,” Tambunting said.

Prior to her appointment, Aruta was a long-time member of the Management Committee and head of the SME Banking and the Branch Banking Groups. An alumna of Saint Paul College of Manila with a BSC in Accountancy degree, Aruta has served in senior executive capacity in the commercial banking sector. Aruta also served a two-year stint with the Royal Bank of Canada and on the board of PEV, a Toronto based non-profit organization whose mission is to foster the education of women of all ages and backgrounds in order to promote their unique influence in shaping society, through their family life, professional work and community action. She contributes valuable insights from her extensive background as a private entrepreneur.

Tambunting also announced the promotion to Executive Vice President of Consuelo V. Dantes. The head of the Human Resources Department and the Support Services Group, Dantes will also have oversight of the Bank’s environmental sustainability initiatives.

An alumna of the University of the Philippines in Diliman with an AB Economics degree, cum laude, Dantes has over 25 years of executive and managerial experience in branch banking, human resources, marketing communications and credit management with Plantersbank and other financial institutions.
