Balikat ng Bayan Award in Business Lending
Planters Development Bank was conferred the Balikat ng Bayan Award by the Social Security System during rites to mark the 48th year of the state-run pension fund.
The Social Security System (SSS) conferred on Plantersbank the Balikat ng Bayan Award - Best Participating Financial Institution in Business Loans, citing the volume and quality of loans channeled to private enterprises under the SSS loan programs in the past year.
Herminio M. Famatigan Jr., Plantersbank executive vice president for account management said Plantersbank remains committed to strengthen the business capabilities of the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector through similar programs.
This is the second Balikat ng Bayan Award conferred to Plantersbank in the Business Loans category. The first was in 1998. Its other awards from SSS are the 2002 Best Collecting Thrift Bank and 2002 Best Participating Financial Institution in Social Loans Category.
