Plantersbank chairman and CEO Ambassador Jesus P. Tambunting spoke before participants at the 45th Breakfast Roundtable of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) held in Makati recently.
Speaking before senior executives and board directors of the country’s top corporations, Ambassador Tambunting cited good corporate governance as key to the success of Plantersbank and its initiatives towards SMEs.
He also stressed on the importance of practicing good corporate governance in attaining corporate objectives and in helping corporations overcome the challenges of the current global crisis.
ICD is the leading training institution in corporate governance and directorship in the Philippines. One of their projects aims to raise awareness of corporate governance best practices with the business community and government regulators and demonstrate to firms that strong corporate governance standards can be instrumental in achieving business success.
