Plantersbank President in ShoreCap Exchange Board
Plantersbank president and chief operating officer Maria Flordelis F. Aguenza was recently elected to the Board of Directors of ShoreCap Exchange Corporation in the United States.
“Our participation in the policy-making body of organizations like ShoreCap Exchange brings a distinct recognition of our accomplishments in helping a sector that banks have been reluctant to lend,” Plantersbank chairman and chief executive officer Ambassador Jesus P. Tambunting said. “It also gives us the unique opportunity to learn more about global best practices in SME finance.”
ShoreCap Exchange, a not-for-profit, grant-funded advisory service organization promoting development finance is affiliated with ShoreBank Corporation, the leading small business-oriented, environmental and community bank in the United States.
Mrs. Aguenza was nominated by ShoreBank Corporation to serve as an independent director together with representatives of international private, development and government institutions in the eight-member board.
After attending the recent meeting of the ShoreCap Exchange Board of Directors in New York, Mrs. Aguenza flew to Chicago to participate in the Panel of CEOs at the Risk Management Forum, a workshop organized by ShoreCap Exchange for senior executives of small business-oriented and microfinance banks.
