Plantersbank received the most distinguished honors from the Small Business Corporation (SBCorp) during the Bank Excellence Awards that capped the first decade celebration of the state-run agency for small enterprise development.
Plantersbank received the Kabalikat SME Award for its 10-year record of outstanding performance under the SBCorp lending and guarantee programs.

The Award was presented to Plantersbank chairman Ambassador Jesus P. Tambunting (second from left) by SBCorp chair Zorayda Amelia C. Alonzo (far right) and SBCorp president Benel P. Lagua (far left). Also in the photo are Plantersbank president Maria Flordelis F. Aguenza and senior vice presidents Remigio Tito C. Tirones, Ana Rose T. Kwan and Maria Agnes J. Angeles.
The Kabalikat SME Award is the highest recognition ever given to a participating bank for excellent performance and active participation under the various SBCorp lending facilities. It is also the fifth Special Award received by Plantersbank since being elevated to the SBCorp Hall of Fame in 2002.

Plantersbank Assistant Vice President Rico Aloyon also received the Kabalikat ng SBCorp Award for outstanding individual contribution as a loan officer in Mindanao. Mr. Aloyon is credited with having provided P430.3 million in SBCorp loans to small and medium enterprises in Davao. This is the first award of its kind presented by SBCorp to recognize individual performance.
