Plantersbank sponsors the 2nd Filipino Franchise Show 2003

Philippine-grown franchising received a boost from the country’s largest private development bank and leading proponent of Small and Medium Enterprises.

Planters Development Bank recently signed a memorandum of agreement with the Association of Filipino Franchisers, Inc. (AFFI) to reaffirm the Bank’s commitment as a major sponsor of the 2nd Filipino Franchise Show 2003 to open on July 25.

Signing the agreement are: Plantersbank chairman and CEO Jesus P. Tambunting (2nd from right), Plantersbank president and COO Maria Flordelis F. Aguenza (left), AFFI chairman Teresa Dula-Laurel, and AFFI president Pacita U. Juan (right). Witnessing the agreement are (from left to right) Plantersbank Senior AVP Tito C. Tirones, AFFI exhibit chairman Teresita Ngan Tian and AFFI Director Armando O. Bartolome.

Pacita Juan, president of AFFI and CEO of Figaro Coffee Co. explained that the fair was envisioned “to give small and medium-scale players a venue to showcase their offerings, and to encourage retailers to see franchising as a way of expanding.” Plantersbank, which has more than 40 years experience in SME finance welcomes the Philippine franchise group’s optimism.

The AFFI is a trade group representing independent, wholly Philippine-grown and owned small and mid-sized businesses. Uniquely, the AFFI is focused on promoting companies that have assets of P50 million or less.
